Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Clipping Agent (the "Service"), an automated tool that processes long-form video into short-form vertical clips and publishes them to third-party platforms on your behalf. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. What the Service Does
Clipping Agent:
- Processes video files or YouTube URLs that you explicitly provide.
- Transcribes and analyzes the video to identify candidate short-form clips.
- Renders vertical clips with automatically generated, burned-in captions.
- Optionally uploads finished clips to third-party platforms (currently YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram) using authorization credentials that you personally grant via each platform's own official login flow.
The Service never fetches, downloads, or processes any video automatically or in bulk. It only acts on content you explicitly supply.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service, and you must comply with the terms of service of every third-party platform you connect (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or others added in the future). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any credentials or authorization tokens used by your installation of the Service.
3. Your Content and Rights
You are solely responsible for the video content you provide to the Service and for ensuring you have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to process that content and publish derivative clips from it. You represent that:
- You own the source video, or have explicit permission from the rights holder to clip and publish it.
- Publishing the resulting clips will not infringe any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
- Your use of the Service, and any content it publishes on your behalf, complies with applicable law and with the community guidelines and terms of every platform you connect.
4. Third-Party Platforms
The Service integrates with third-party platforms via their official APIs. Your use of those platforms through the Service is additionally governed by each platform's own terms of service and developer policies, including:
The Service publishes content only after receiving your explicit, revocable authorization through each platform's own OAuth consent flow. You may revoke that authorization at any time from the connected platform's own account settings, which immediately stops the Service from acting on your behalf there.
5. Automated Publishing Behavior
When you enable automatic publishing, the Service uploads a rendered clip, confirms with the destination platform that the upload is genuinely live, records that the clip has been published so it is never uploaded twice, and only then deletes the local copy of the clip. If verification fails for any reason, the local copy is kept and nothing is marked as published.
6. No Warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Automated analysis, clip selection, and caption generation may produce imperfect or unexpected results, and you are responsible for reviewing content before it is published publicly.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of the Service will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service — including any action taken by a third-party platform (such as removal, demonetization, or account restriction) in response to content published through the Service.
8. Changes to the Service or These Terms
The Service may change, be suspended, or be discontinued at any time. These Terms may be updated from time to time; material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
